ICONLOOP Introduces 'ICON Development Network' on AWS Marketplace

With ICON Development Network now listed on the Marketplace, users (developers) can carry out development and testing with the ICON platform on their own private network via the AWS cloud. In addition to building and validating a blockchain network for testing, users can configure nodes to suit their own environment or preferences, allowing for a wide range of development and testing. This is expected to improve development efficiency and understanding of the ICON network, and to let developers validate their DApps (decentralized applications) more thoroughly.

ICON is an open source project, with all of its source code published on GitHub (https://icon-project.github.io). Using it directly on the cloud, however, can be somewhat cumbersome, as there are many separate considerations such as configuration work. ICON Development Network is more efficient because it makes it easy to build your own ICON test network on AWS.

"This collaboration with AWS is part of our effort to help individuals use blockchain projects more easily and quickly," said ICONLOOP CEO JH Kim. "ICONLOOP plans to continue with a variety of initiatives that improve the convenience of the development environment."

"Building and managing a SCORE development environment used to require considerable effort when developing ICON DApps, and using ICON Development Network in the AWS cloud environment looks set to dramatically improve accessibility for DApp development," said Sungbum Cho, CTO of STAYGE One, which operates the ICON-based DApp STAYGE. "On top of that, easily building blockchain networks for testing makes SCORE validation possible in a variety of test environments, which will greatly help improve DApp quality and development productivity."
