PARAMETA Applies Blockchain-Based DID Technology to Moiso Gyeongsangbuk-do, the Provincial Public MyData Platform
February 7, 2023, Seoul — Web3 Enabler PARAMETA (formerly ICONLOOP, CEO JH Kim) announced the successful completion of Moiso Gyeongsangbuk-do, the provincial public MyData platform that launched to the public this month.
Moiso Gyeongsangbuk-do is a platform enabling residents — the subjects of the data held by public institutions — to make proactive use of their own administrative information for fast, straightforward access to administrative services. The build covered public MyData platform development for civil servants and an app for residents, blockchain-based digital provincial resident card issuance, remote subsidy applications and payments, a pilot tourism service for the public, and integration with public platforms.
As the sole contractor for the Moiso Gyeongsangbuk-do project, PARAMETA applied MyID — its blockchain DID (Decentralized Identifier) identity verification platform — to the issuance of digital provincial resident cards and welfare cards, delivering innovative security and simplicity in identity verification.
The platform uses public MyData (the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's bundled services*) to issue resident cards to Gyeongsangbuk-do residents and welfare cards to residents of other provinces and cities. Through blockchain DID-based resident and welfare cards, users can access remote administrative services — applying for and receiving farming and fishing allowances, sick child care services, and more — safely and easily without concern over personal data exposure, and can receive provincial news.
*Extracting only the information needed to provide a particular service from among the information held by administrative agencies, and providing it bundled as a single dataset
