ICONLOOP and Shinhan Card Sign Strategic Alliance to Pursue Joint Blockchain DID Business
- Jeju Safe Code service provided through Shinhan pLay

December 20, 2021, Seoul — ICONLOOP (CEO JH Kim), a leading Korean blockchain company, announced that it plans to pursue a range of businesses based on blockchain DID (Decentralized Identifier) together with Shinhan Card (President Youngjin Lim), through a strategic alliance.
The first case of collaboration is the introduction of ICONLOOP's Jeju Safe Code service to Shinhan pLay. Users can now use Jeju Safe Code conveniently through the electronic entry log scan function within Shinhan pLay. Jeju Safe Code is a COVID-19 blockchain electronic entry log service ICONLOOP developed with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, available at some 50,000 multi-use and public facilities across the island.
Starting from this collaboration, the two companies plan to pursue joint business in the DID field in earnest, and to broaden discussions on expanding into a range of new blockchain technology areas.
"Bringing ICONLOOP's Jeju Safe Code service to Shinhan pLay should expand Korea's blockchain ecosystem another step," said ICONLOOP CEO JH Kim. "We will continue applying the value of blockchain technology to everyday life through a range of collaborations with Shinhan Card."
