The ICON Foundation is proud to announce that ICONLOOP (formerly theloop) was selected to participate in ‘Cultivating Innovative Youth Talents 2018’ supervised by Korea Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and Korea Institute for Information & communications Technology Promotion (IITP). This massive-scale public project aims at strengthening national competitiveness in technologies and solving youth unemployment problem through the cultivation of 5,400 youth talents that will specialize in the Fourth Industrial Revolution with investments up to 108 billion won (approx. $96 million) over 4 years until the year 2021. ICONLOOP will be working closely with 53 members.

From September 2018 to February 2019, ICONLOOP will offer 6-month and 1,000 hours of intensive curriculum for students who are majoring in information security and multimedia education at Baekseok University. In addition, 25 students selected for the ‘Blockchain Specialist Training Course’ will be liaised with ICONLOOP for employment. If the project is successfully completed, it will be expanded to a continuous business over the next three years from 2019.

ICONLOOP’s participation in the government-sponsored public projects is expected to ease youth unemployment problem and job mismatches that recently became critical. As a leading global blockchain project, we will do our best to fulfill our social responsibilities including the cultivation of blockchain specialists, as well as expanding the ICON ecosystem.
